"Shabby" Wreaths

I have recently started keeping an eye out for and collecting Vintage Wrapping Paper. Who knows when, how or even if I will use it - but as collections go - it is easy to store, doesnt take up much room and I LOVE to just look at it.....

That being said, Lulu's Groove has the most AMAZING assortment of Vintage/Retro Goods and loving all things garlandy I just had to get and share with you this fabulousness!!

I purchased multiple sheets so I am thinking about using one of them and covering a composition book and using it as my christmas/holiday organizer!!

I love Softies!

Meet Me At Mikes has long been a favourite blog of mine - the handmade goodness and vintage fab. is wonderful eyecandy. Whenever I "check in" I am always inspired and amazed and then incredibly devestated that the store is a few thousand miles away in Melbourne, Australia!! I saw pics that they posted of they're store front display and just had to share these garlands of softies which are being collected and displayed with some being sold in support of The Mirabel Foundation!!

Super Easy Summer "flag" banner!

Do you ever wonder what you can create with your beautiful and precious pieces of vintage wallpaper that is always TOO good to use!?!?!?

   DSC_0024

Here is a super quick and easy mini tutorial to get you started making a charming "flag" banner!!

   DSC_0023

The size of your wallpaper pieces will dictate the size of your banner "flags". I cut mine to 3 inches wide by 10" in length, then folded with an iron in the middle. After cutting out pieces mark a spot in the centre (1.5") appox 1 - 2 inches from the bottom of the flag. Draw cut lines in pencil from spot in centre to flag edge and cut out.

   DSC_0025

I used twine to hang my flag pieces over, but ribbon, seam binding or tinsel would be lovely too!! I measured approx 2 inches  between each flag and glued the two inside edges together and smoothed with a brayer, repeat until you have used all your pieces....

See how easy it is......... look how great it looks hanging up!! It's perfect for inside or out!!
